Compounds in cruciferous veggies fight lung cancer: studies

Here's some good news for smokers. Stocking up on certain veggies like broccoli, cauliflower and watercress helps your body fight lung cancer, two studies have found. The studies, by researchers from the Lombardi Cancer Center at the Georgetown University Medical Center and the Institute for Cancer Prevention, showed that certain compounds derived from isothiocyanates that occur abundantly in cruciferous vegetables inhibited the spread of animal and human lung cancer cells.
