Filed under: Breast Cancer Apparently, smoking cigarettes before your first child, or first full-term pregnancy increases the chances of developing breast cancer by 20 percent. that is a significant increase discovered by researchers at Mayo Clinic. It is a hypothesis now supported by increased research. Breast cancer usually affects cells similiar to ones found before menopause and before a young woman has her first full-term pregnancy.
