The federal government has approached nuclear energy executives to discuss the future of Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd., including its potential sale. Sources say Finance Minister Jim Flaherty, Treasury Board President John Baird and Natural Resources Minister Gary Lunn are mulling the options for Crown-owned AECL, which builds the Candu reactors used in Canada and elsewhere, as the nuclear industry springs back to life.
