Lil' Topper bottled water sipper caps

Filed under: Feeding & Nutrition, Gear, Eating Today seems to be a bit waterlogged. While working on a couple other water-related stories (here and here), I came across these nifty caps. They basically turn a water bottle into a sippy-cup. Only for water. With a standard water bottle. While the kids' sport-top bottles are fine for Jared, usually, Sara is far more likely to spill them, getting water all over my Land Rover. (Generally mixed, I might add, with the evil Cheerios they get everywhere, creating an unholy mush-mess that has led me to declare, on more than one occasion, that there will be no more children riding in my Land Rover, ever!) These seem like a good solution. The manufacturer notes the safety hazard of standard sport tops, offering the Lil' Topper as a safe alternative. They're also "no-spill", so they would work for Sara. They come in two colors to match the two most common thread types used by bottle manufacturers. They can be bought online for $5 a pair, as well as in select local kids' stores. For the amount of water we drink, I think a few of these are a necessity. The small size means we can keep them in the Rover and just pick up cold water on an as-needed basis for the kids.
