Area girls swim teams a case of haves vs. have-nots

The 2005 girls high school swim season seems to be breaking down into various degrees of "haves" and "have-nots" in the Des Moines area. While new pools and large numbers are the story in some circles, other schools havent been so fortunate. Ankeny With all but two swimmers back from last seasons second-place finish at state, Ankeny High Schools swim team is zeroed in on having more success in 2005. "There is a lot of confidence from their success last year," coach Mark Nordby said. "They have years of experience in swimming and you have a season like we did last year. That just builds the desire to do it again and be right in the middle of the best teams in the state."
