Sen. Martinez to head Republicans: party aides

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Sen. Mel Martinez of Florida, a Cuban-born American success story, will become general chairman of the Republican Party as it seeks to rebound from losing control of Congress to Democrats in last week's elections, party officials said on Monday.
