Bad things in our foods

The other day at work I was talking to a co-worker about my daughter, who happened to be eating lunch with us. My little girl, Cassidy, was eating some pre-packaged Jello that she had found in the work refridgerator. When my co-worker saw Cassidy spooning up the red mixture, she warned me about some bad ingredient, a cancer-causing preservative, she had heard was in it. I asked her for specifics but she had none. Later she asked another co-worker who supplied her with the names, BHA and BHT. I try to feed my children good, organic foods as much as possible. Pre-packaged Jello is not a staple of our diet, but according to my friend, these ingredients are in so many things that the Jello is the least of my worries. So tonight I looked up BHA and BHT and this is what I found: I am not thrilled. It is yet another reason that I really should hand prepare all of my children's foods. I am not likely to do this, but tonight I will sit up and ponder it for awhile. Read Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
