Here is one indication of Iran's attempt to become the leader of the global jihad. Shi'ites-Will-Never-Collaborate-With-Sunnis Alert from Israel National News, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist: Iran is trying to form an alliance with al-Qaida by training the next generation of Global Jihad leaders to take over for Osama bin Laden, according to a report by the British Daily Telegraph. According to the report, Iran is determined to take advantage of bin Laden's declining health to promote senior officials who are known to be friendly to Tehran. The Iranians reportedly want Saif al-Adel, a 46-year-old former colonel in Egypt's special forces, to be the organizations number three. Al-Adel, formerly bin Laden's head of security, was placed on the FBI's 22 most wanted list after September 11, 2001 for his involvement in attacks on US targets in Somalia and Africa in the 90s. He currently resides in Iran.
