No more holiday break: Roadwork returns
9th Sep 2005, 03:45 GMT
Good weather brings bad news for Atlanta drivers this weekend. The holiday respite from road construction is over, and state Department of Transportation contractors plan to take advantage of the sun. It's a "veritable all-you-can-eat buffet of projects," John Stansberry, a spokesman for the DOT's Management Center, said ruefully. "It was so nice not having the construction out there for Labor Day." The DOT bans lane closures on holiday travel weekends.
