UNC Hospitals requests funds for bed shortage

A shortage of space at UNC Hospitals could be alleviated if the state legislature approves funding for a new 200-bed inpatient tower. The proposal is coupled with a plan to replace 39 operating rooms, which officials say are outdated. Hospital administrators are requesting $32.
