In quake country, a need to be ready.

Even before the devastating natural disaster struck the Gulf Coast last week, city officials here have been readying a new emergency preparedness campaign of street banners, bus ads and a Web site to get residents of earthquake country thinking about how they will survive the first 72 hours after a disaster.
