Sprint Nextel subscribers will soon have the ability to get the Sirius Satellite Radio service on their multimedia devices thanks to an agreement between the two companies. According to the parties, the service will be priced at $6.95 a month for 20 commercial-free music channels. However, before subscribers can buy the service, they must purchase a wireless data plan, which costs around $15 a month. In addition, Sprint Nextel plans to launch a music download service by the end of the year that will allow users to download entire songs straight to their wireless phones using its wireless network.
