Camel fetches $185,000 at auction in United Arab Emirates

A camel was sold for $185,000 at an auction in the United Arab Emirates, where camel racing is hugely popular, a newspaper reported on Wednesday. Mohammad bin Taloub "chose carefully" among the camels on offer at the auction in the U.A.E. capital of Abu Dhabi on Tuesday before stumping up 680,000 dirhams, said Gulf News, published in nearby Dubai.
