Movie spoof could become vehicle for spreading hatred Lenny Bruce and George Carlin tested the First Amendment. Contemporary interpretations of Bruce's and Carlin's material look beyond free speech to the limits of vulgarity. Borat of the spoof documentary "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," which debuted as the top movie two weeks ago, is a different story. His work takes comedy from the sublime to the ridiculous. Worse, though, Borat's work will extend comedy from ignorance to hatred. Allen Friedman, Wilmington Wilmington I like how ol' Allen refers to Borat as if he's a real person. With all the things going on in the world, he decided to take time out to write a letter to a newspaper about a fictional character. Gotta love it.
