To test how long inaccurate pieces of information would last on Wikipedia, Alexander Halavais, assistant professor of communications at Quinnipiac University altered some entries on the site. The false information entered was that Frederick Douglass (the abolitionist), lived in Syracuse, N.Y. for four years, and that the Disney film The Rescuers Down Under won an Oscar for film editing.
