Honda Factory Performance program launched for 2006 Civic

2nd Nov 2005, 17:51 GMT

Honda is joining GM and Ford in the performance parts business. While the company isn’t exactly offering crate engines (yet), a lot of the Honda factory-prepared cars at SEMA are carrying prototype parts and accessories for the HFP program, which actually started in 2002 with a kit for the Civic EX. First to hit dealer shelves will be packages and components for the 2006 Civic Si, Coupe and Sedan. The packages include a sport suspension package upgrade, aero body kits, plus-size wheels and tires and a sport muffler. The packages will be available through Honda dealers, and can be installed by the dealer when you buy your new Civic. Full factory warranty applies. Parts will also be available separately. Package prices range from $3,880 for the Si, to $3,181 for the Coupe. Based on the press releases for the company’s various concept cars, we’re betting that the HFP program will expand considerably in the near future.
