Marquette barely avoids Idaho State upset

Dominic James scored 17 points and Jerel McNeal added 13 as No. 16 Marquette escaped with a 59-56 overtime victory over Idaho State in a first-round game of the CBE Classic on Monday night. Marquette (2-0) plays Detroit, which beat Maine 57-50, in a second-round game on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles struggled with their shooting throughout the game, going 19-of-64 from the field and 16-of-31 from the free throw line. Akbar Abdul-Ahad led Idaho State with 17 points.
