NAPLES, Fla. -- Red Sox GM Theo Epstein said he made an offer to a free agent, but would not disclose who it was. One possibility could be J.D. Drew, who could play center or right field, or Julio Lugo, who can play shortstop or second base. "We've been in contact with numerous agents and we're at different stages with many of them," Epstein said. "We'll continue to talk to teams.
