With regard to the Clarke County Board of Education's recent discussion of a proposal to arm additional security personnel on the two high school campuses, will additional guns really make those schools safer? Is there actually a need for guns in the schools? What kind of specialized training do the people who would be carrying guns have? What is the likelihood of an accidental shooting? What kind of atmosphere is created in school with the presence of gun-carrying officers?
