Hamas still refuses to recognize Israel - but says coalition might

Hamas insisted Tuesday it won't recognize Israel even after a new unity government takes power in the Palestinian Territories, but suggested the emerging coalition would be free to stake out a more moderate position. On Wednesday, envoys of the so-called "Quartet" of Mideast mediators were to meet in Cairo, in part to be briefed.
