San Francisco ends 2016 bid over stadium row

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - San Francisco withdrew its bid for the 2016 Olympics on Monday just days after the city's professional football team, the 49ers, said they would not build a new stadium that would have been a centerpiece of the bid.
