(AFP) - Japan's Meteorogical Agency officer Takeshi Hachimine points to the earthquake's centre on a map of Russia's Kuril islands during a press conference at the Meteorogical Agency headquarters in Tokyo. A huge earthquake shook an isolated island chain north of Japan, triggering a Pacific-wide tsunami warning but only a wavelet hit the coast after thousands fled to higher ground.(AFP/Yoshikazu Tsuno)
