"Delivery Status" e-mails :(
13th Nov 2006, 18:46 GMT
I have my own private domain hosted on some random hosting site... Recently though, for no good reason, I have been receiving hundreds if not thousands of "Mail Could not be delivered" messages from many MANY other host providers containing spam in the mail slot and random From: e-mail addresses at my domain. So some spammer is sending spam to other hosts and putting MY domain as the From sender for NO good reason... The e-mails clearly aren't travelling though this mail server from looking at the logs and information in these e-mails... It makes no sense why they would do this to me... Why not make up a fictional domain? I am getting flooded with hundreds of fail delivery notifications from tons of domains because of this and it seems completely out of my control to stop other than shutting down my domain completely.
